You can choose between many platforms. AJBell, Hargreaves Lansdown, Interactive Investor, Fidelity, Barclays, the list is a big list. To focus on which is best for you, it makes sense to compare the different platforms based on how you intend to use their services.
But, is there one best platform? We don’t think so. In other words, if you get it wrong to start with, you can change your mind. So if the platform is not vital in your decision-making, what is?
When you use a platform, you need a process to make the right investment decisions. If you are going to be your own fund manager, you need to act like a fund manager. That’s where we come in. To help you make better decisions. Take a look here
Food for thought. Hargreaves Lansdown set up what they call a Wealth Shortlist. It is a list of funds selected by Hargreaves to narrow the choice for investors. That sounds fantastic, sadly it’s not. The reason an investor wants a nudge of what to buy is that they don’t know what to buy themselves. Investors are relying on others to provide a ‘shortcut’ to investing, but short cuts are just that, short cuts…they are not the way!
If you want to compare platforms, why not try this.
