Is your financial adviser like Jordan Belfort, The Wolf of Wall Street?

If you have ever watched the film with Leonardo de Capri playing the lead role based on the story of Jordan Belfort.  In the film, the last person you would want to deal with would be Jordan Belfort.  It is easy to know when he’s more interested in making money for himself than his clients.  A clear lack of integrity. And it’s easy for us all to see.

Yet, thousands of investors believed him at the time. They couldn’t see his lack of integrity.  They didn’t know the commissions paid.  They had no idea of the risks. But they loved the story…which Jordan Belfort was great at delivering as the film illustrates.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could step outside your body and watch a film about yourself?  As you watch yourself, you might say, “Can’t you see what’s he’s saying, it’s staring you in the face”. The trouble is, it’s hard to see or listen when you don’t want to.

Are you susceptible to stories that make you feel comfortable handing over your wealth for others to manage?  Most will say they are wise but have you really carried out proper due diligence. In truth, you need an expert to ask the right questions for you.  Want a conversation?

So, is your financial adviser another Jordan Belfort, The Wolf of Wall Street? It’s unlikely. But it does pay to ask better questions of those you choose to manage your money.  Alternatively, why not manage your money yourself…we can show you how.
